Winston Duke's M'Baku makes bluntness a political instrument without losing the weight of responsibility to his own community. A hypothetical film could centre a local dispute where physical confidence cannot settle the duty of governing. His ensemble appearances supply the background; the wish is for an ordinary, difficult public decision to become the main drama.
