Oldboy (2003)
Movie
Released
The question is not simply who imprisoned a man for fifteen years, but why the conditions of his release feel just as carefully arranged. Park Chan-wook gives the revenge story a fierce physical momentum while keeping its central riddle alive. This is a brutal, emotionally punishing choice with disturbing sexual themes, for an evening when you want the mystery to bite hard.
