A struggling flower shop's success depends on a plant whose appetite keeps changing the price of prosperity. Frank Oz's musical turns ambition and moral compromise into a cheerful-looking transaction, with an extraordinarily expressive puppet as its salesman. The songs make the escalating bargain enjoyable long before it is comfortable. Choose it for monstrous temptation with comic bite; theatrical and director's cuts have different endings, so the version changes how dark the bargain ultimately feels.

Seymour Krelborn is a nerdy orphan working at Mushnik's, a flower shop in urban Skid Row. He harbors a crush on fellow co-worker, Audrey Fulquard, and is berated by Mr. Mushnik daily.
