Passengers (2016)
Movie
Released
Jim knowingly wakes Aurora into a life she did not choose, then helps save the ship and offers her the single medical pod that could restore her journey. That offer matters: she is given an alternative before deciding to stay. The difficulty is the leap from emergency heroism to the closing account of a wonderful shared life. Survival establishes gratitude and attachment more convincingly than it establishes repaired trust after such a profound betrayal.
