Yesterday (2019)

Jack confesses that the Beatles songs are not his, releases them free and chooses Ellie over celebrity. Those are real decisions, so the objection is not that he changes nothing. The shortcut is how smoothly the film moves from a vast public deception to domestic fulfilment, with little sustained reckoning for the trust he exploited. A satisfying romantic choice is asked to settle an artistic and ethical problem that the premise made much larger.
